Resident Clients

Governance, generational transition, and coaching for the people involved.

We support families with complex industrial, financial, and real estate wealth through the transitions in which ownership, governance, liquidity, and generations must be aligned. The focus is the continuity of the entrepreneurial family, not a single transaction.

Scope

Who it's for.

The Resident Clients sub-hub serves Italian families with complex wealth that are consolidating governance, navigating generational transition, or reorganizing after a major event.

Multi-generational families

Families in their second or third generation with complex structures, requiring formal governance and shared decision-making.

Entrepreneurs in transition

Founders preparing the handover to the next generation or the professionalization of management.

Post liquidity event

Families following a business sale that need to structure liquid wealth with a long-term horizon and an investment policy.

Family office in setup

Families establishing or evolving their family office, with needs around governance, IPS, and integrated reporting.

Coaching

Coaching across generations.

The coaching program is run internally by Montesino through a dedicated professional. We do not sell training products: we build tailored paths that prepare people to exercise the role of shareholder, director, or wealth manager with full awareness.

NextGen Program

Preparing the next generation.

Structured path for the next generations of the family — children, grandchildren, young shareholders. The goal: build understanding of the family wealth, the underlying business, and governance mechanisms, and develop decision-making autonomy over time.

  • Financial and wealth literacy
  • Understanding the family business and its value chain
  • Governance dynamics, shareholder vs director roles
  • Investment tools and asset allocation
  • Preparation to join corporate bodies or the family council
Executive Program

Supporting those who lead.

Path for the entrepreneur or head of the family in office. The goal: structure the transition, the future role, and the handover with clarity — themes that rarely find space in traditional technical advisory.

  • Planning the transition of role
  • Defining one's contribution in the post-operational phase
  • Managing intergenerational expectations
  • Coordination with tax, legal, and corporate finance advisors
  • Long-term governance framework

Method

Four phases, partner-led.

Every family engagement follows an iterative path, with a single senior point of contact and direct coordination of the technical advisors involved (notary, accountant, legal counsel, corporate finance).

01

Family diagnostic

Mapping of wealth, existing structures, family relationships, roles, potential tensions, and the objectives of each branch.

02

Governance design

Design of family pacts, shareholders' agreements, family constitution, family council, holding structures, and rules of access to wealth.

03

Implementation

Technical execution with legal, tax, and notarial advisors. Setup of family office, trusts, holding vehicles, investment policy.

04

Coaching support

NextGen and/or Executive program in parallel. Periodic reporting, annual review, coordination with active corporate finance transactions on the wealth.

Why Montesino

A platform that speaks to both the family and the business.

Continuity between family and business

Montesino's corporate finance practices work daily on M&A, debt, and capital raises. The wealth structures developed for families are designed to align with the transactions the family undertakes along its industrial path.

Coaching integrated into Montesino's leadership

The NextGen and Executive program is led by a professional integrated into the Montesino team, aligned with the platform's method and the language of families and transactions.

Selected dossiers from the platform

When consistent with profile, objectives, and regulatory safeguards, the family can evaluate selected dossiers originated by the Montesino platform — club deals, co-investment, real estate — with the support of their own licensed advisors.

Long-term mandates

Families don't have quarterly needs. Our commitment is measured in years: we support the transition, the stabilization, and the periodic governance reviews over decades.
